I think it's a little bit difficult to understand this picture so I explain it. In the midle is Frisk. They've got the choice to fight or use mercy. If they choose mercy, the kind Chara will go with them on their journey. If they choose fight, the cruel, creepy demon Chara will. Frisk's soul is there because you can only choose with your soul in the game.
